Three new products, redesigned product pages, and review site links

Added Ztalio, Linutop and Screen-Signs, rebuilt product pages as a single column, and added G2 links and ratings to 84 listings.

Three new products

Ztalio came in as a suggestion and is the clearest expression of a pattern running through this year’s additions: the TV is the player. It runs on Roku, Fire TV, LG, Google TV and Apple TV, and the free tier covers one screen indefinitely. Paid plans are priced by screen count, from $9.99 a month for three.

Linutop has been doing this since 2006 and comes at it from the other end. Linutop Kiosk is a free player for a PC or a Raspberry Pi, Linutop TV adds central management for EUR 96 a year, and the company sells its own fanless mini PCs for the screens that need one.

Screen-Signs sells a single plan at $12 a month with unlimited displays, playing in a browser on whatever hardware is already there.

Product pages now carry a “Reviews elsewhere” panel linking to the product’s page on third-party review sites, with the rating and review count as read on the day.

84 of the 641 listings have one, all from G2, matched against G2’s own digital signage category. The rating is a dated snapshot rather than a live figure, so each panel says when it was read and points at the source for the current number. The same information appears in each product’s Markdown twin, so the machine-readable copies do not drift from the page.

Two sources that were on the list are not here. Capterra sits behind a human-verification challenge, and Gartner Peer Insights runs a digital signage market of 30 products but does not expose stable per-product links in a way that can be matched reliably. Both would need a different route, most likely an official one.

The schema now has a reviews block with room for all three, so adding the others later is a data change rather than a rebuild.

Product pages lost their sidebar

Product pages are now a single column. The sidebar that used to run down the right held the two buttons, a list of facts and, as of this morning, the reviews panel, and it had started to fight the page: it pinned on scroll, it ran past the bottom of the screen on longer listings, and anything added to it had to be threaded into the right wrapper or it slid underneath the pinned card.

Its contents moved rather than went away. The buttons sit in the header card. The facts became a Details grid, four columns wide on a desktop and two on a phone, which suits short values far better than one row each. The six yes/no rows for self-signup, API, CLI, SSO, SAML and MCP became a row of chips, ticked where supported and struck through where not, because a column of mostly “No” was the weakest thing on the old page.

The quick-look panel that opens from the directory list reads the same markup, so it gets the new layout too, and a single column fills it better than the old two-column grid ever did.
